CASTLE BROMWICH PARISH COUNCIL WANT YOUR VIEWS ON YOUR VILLAGE HALL
Arden Hall was opened in 1965 and is home to the Parish Council. It is well used as the Village Hall for Castle Bromwich and is surrounded by open parkland. The park has its own Sports Pavilion which is the base for Castle Bromwich Cricket and Sports Club and many activities take place in the park and playground (cricket, tennis, adult and youth football) under the watchful eye of our own Park Wardens. The park is enjoyed by all ages throughout the year.
WE NEED YOUR VIEWS ON THE FUTURE OF ARDEN HALL -
have you visited in the last year, taken in a show, held an event, are part of a group that use the hall on regular occasions or perhaps just driven by. The Hall itself is in need of renovation and the Parish Council are looking for your views as to what you would like to see happen in the future.
Plans are in hand to refurbish the front of Arden Hall - BUT WE NEED YOU TO LET US KNOW WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE FOR THE FUTURE.
Please get in touch (by 16th September, 2008);
WRITE and give us your thoughts and ideas ----

REMEMBER THIS IS YOUR VILLAGE HALL and Castle Bromwich residents need to be involved in its future.

PRESS RELEASE - Planning for a Golden Anniversary at Arden Hall
Recently Castle Bromwich Parish Council celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the opening of Arden Hall. A welcome number of those residents who had contributed to the building and have supported it over the years joined us. Their stories and personal memories of the past 40 years confirmed the continuing value of the Hall to the community and the responsibility of the younger generation, led by the present Council, to continue to make Arden Hall available. The process of planning for our Golden Anniversary is in hand.
Of course in 4 decades the needs of the community have changed. Just maintaining the buildings is necessary but not enough, those changing needs have to be provided for as well. Understandably after 40 years Arden Hall in showing it's age so the prime concern of the Council is to secure funding. An application for funding was submitted to the Big Lottery Fund in April this year and the Parish Council is waiting to know if it has been successful or not. A Lottery Fund spokesman said that "demand for this programme has been much higher than expected" so an announcement of results will be delayed and not announced in August as originally hoped. The Parish Council will have to be patient and wait a little longer to hear the result.
In the meantime, other benevolent organisations are being identified and approached. At the same time we have adopted a more constructive approach to marketing Arden Hall, which is already showing results. Information on the regular and special events at Arden Hall can be seen on the this website and on notices at the front entrance to Arden Hall.
Councillor Mrs. Barbara Wilkins, Chairman of the Parish Council, has just hosted another successful Charity Quiz and raised £367 which will be distributed to local groups at the end of the Civic Year. Another quiz will hopefully be held in the autumn, Christmas party nights and a Bridal Fayre on Sunday 30th March
For anyone interested in becoming a "Friend of Arden Hall" or attending the above events, please contact Arden Hall for a form to complete or speak to any Parish Councillor.
